General Requirements

  • Employment permit approval letter (for work visa holders)
  • Letter of offer from Irish employer
  • Evidence of qualifications and professional experience
  • Statement of purpose or cover letter
  • Proof of accommodation in Ireland
  • Financial evidence – bank statements (last 6 months)
  • Travel insurance (minimum €25,000 cover)
  • Police clearance certificate from home country

ℹ️ Important Note

Ireland is NOT part of the Schengen Area but is an EU member. The Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) is the flagship work permit for high-demand occupations (salary €38,000+ for most). After 2 years, CSEP holders can apply for a Stamp 4 which allows them to work without a permit. Ireland also offers a Startup Entrepreneur Programme for business founders.
